Welcome Back Travelers!
Are you ready to start our trip together? Well then....Pronti, attenti, VIA! (=Ready, steady, GO!)
Step 1: Make yourself some good Espresso.
Step 2: If step 1 didn't work out very well just go to the closest cafeteria (Bar) and ask "Un caffè per favore."
Ready? Okay then Welcome To Trieste!!!
Aside of being my hometown, Trieste is the North-East gate of entrance to Italy. It shares a border with Slovenia, and its port - which is located on the Gulf of Trieste in the Adriatic Sea - used to be the main maritime outlet of the Hapsburg Empire. Today, the port is still considered one of the main ports used for international trade with Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia.
Many movies and commercials were filmed all around the city especially on the Costiera road, which is a very scenic road overlooking the Gulf of Trieste.
The Gulf also hosts the Barcolana Regata, which is a an international sailing race that happens once a year in the fall. The Barcolana gets the most exciting when the Bora Wind blows, a violent wind that comes from East of Europe and only hits Trieste of all Italian cities.

Where to stay. The Bed & Breakfast Amelie is located in a historic building in the center of Trieste. The place has been completely renovated and the rooms are cozy and elegant. Due to its strategic location, one can reach the historic-artistic area, the Central Train Station, and the main monument in the downtown area in a very short time. Buses are also available within steps from the building.

- Piazza Unità d'Italia - Also know as Europe's largest square located by the sea, it is the Main square of Trieste, and it is surrounded by fascinating palaces, including the city's municipal building.
- Castello di Miramare - The Miramare Castle was built in 1856 for the Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian and his wife. The castle is now a museum, which also provides very interactive activities for children. Its park of 54 acres includes numerous tropical plants and trees, a cliff, and a seashore.
- San Giusto Castle - The constructions of the San Giusto Cathedral started in 1302 and took 18 years. It presents a Roman-Gothic style, and it is located on the top of the highest hill of the city overlooking the whole Trieste downtown area.
